about

Amerli is a town
north of Baghdad which
was surrounded by
ISIS for three months.
The people, notably
including boys between
10 to 15 years old,
fought to defend their
own. After a painful
struggle they won their
freedom. Hussein was
very happy to hear about
this victory, which was a
symbol of hope. He has
learned the oud at the
Musical Studies Institute
of Baghdad. His musical
activities were making
his life difficult, and on a
summer day in 2015 he
decided to follow the long
Balkan road, to finally
arrive in Brussels. There
he’s resumed his musical
activity more than ever.
