about

“High Mountain”. In
order to leave China
where they could not
learn their language nor
practice their religion,
Kelsang and Dolma, like
many other Tibetans,
fled on foot. They walked
for weeks in the snowcovered
mountains, hence
the importance of this
theme in their songs.
Upon arriving in India,
Kelsang’s talent caught
the attention of the Dalai
Lama, the religious
and political authority
of Tibet, who is not
recognized by the Chinese
government. Following
his advice, Kelsang
attended major Tibetan
art schools in India.
